Equine Sports Therapy, is a soft tissue therapy using a variety of therapeutic and dynamic hands on approached applied directly to the horse's musculature and soft tissues. Your horse will be treated to a bespoke postural assessment, dynamic assessment and treatments using specialised massage, soft tissue release, mobilisation and stretching to release muscular tension, correct fascia imbalances and alleviate pain. Equine Kinesiology taping, as appropriate can be used to enhance and extend treatment your horse has received.
INITIAL CONSULTATION & TREATMENT
An initial consultation, postural/dynamic assessment and sports therapy treatment focussed on the specific problem areas. We will create and guide you through any relevant exercises, stretches and recommendations for your horse as part of their after care plan.

HORSE & RIDER PACKAGE

Huquine Sports Therapy, can offer unique packages for both yourself and your horse, providing a discounted rate for the combined treatment for your horse and rider. This is tailored to your horse's and your needs to provide a bespoke treatment and after care plan.

AREAS COVERED
​
Huquine Sports Therapy covers the following areas - Forest of Dean and parts of Monmouthshire, Gloucestershire and Herefordshire.
​
There is no extra charge for travel within 25 miles of Whitecroft, Forest of Dean.
​
Appointments beyond 25 mile radius will incur an extra charge of 40p a mile. If there are other appointments in your area or more than your appointment at your yard then this charge will be shared. Please contact us for a quote.
PAYMENTS & CANCELLATION POLICY

Payments can be made to Huquine Sports Therapy via cash or bank transfer. We request for your first appointment that payment if made via bank transfer prior to your appointment or cash on the day. Please contact us for bank details.

Occasionally you may need to cancel your appointments at short notice. We kindly request as much notice as possible if you need to re-arrange your appointment.

REQUEST

Please ensure your horse is clean and dry prior to the appointment. If your horse is wet and/or muddy they cannot be treated and the full treatment cost will still be charged.

Please detail your horse's temperament / nature / willingness to be touched and handled when contacting us. Our therapist Hayley is experienced in working with challenging horses, however if the situation becomes dangerous then the treatment will be stopped and the full treatment cost will still be charged.
VETERINARY CONSENT

To work within her duty of care to both you and your horse, if your horse is currently under veterinary care Huquine Sports Therapy requires veterinary permission prior to treating your horse (Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966), this can be gained by a phone call either from ourselves or from the horses owner.

If your horse is currently in good health, veterinary consent is not required however to work within our duty of care we will ask you to confirm the practice your horse is registered with and they will need to be informed if any pathologies are identified during assessment and treatment.

If Huquine Sports Therapy attends an appointment and is unable to treat the horse as they need to be referred to a vet the full treatment cost is still due.
